Resolve Requirements & Reduce Costs

Often seen as lightweight and fun exercises, discovery workshops play a crucial role in firming up project requirements and specs, ultimately saving unforeseen problems, missed expectations and your budget further down the line.

They generate fresh ideas, whether it’s for brand messaging, customer personas, new products, or market strategies. These insights can unlock missed revenue, ensure consistent communication, and accelerate project production.

By engaging stakeholders early on, these workshops clarify objectives, identify potential challenges, and align expectations. This proactive approach creates clear specs and avoids assumptions, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely delivery of outcomes.

Innovative Insights

Sessions typically last a couple of hours, beginning with a short presentation to outline the specific challenge. This is followed by free-thinking, interactive activities using post-its. We conclude with an evaluation, setting timelines and follow-up. For complex challenges, we conduct multiple sessions and compile the findings into a detailed analysis.

Workshops are pivotal in generating innovative ideas for crafting customer-centric messaging, which can be validated through focused user group sessions.

By delving into customer insights and market trends brands can create loyalty with their existing customers because they feel listened to. Organisations also get more innovative outputs that more effectively resonate with their target audience.

Aligning Your Ambitions

Whether it is considering how your website will be used by the backend administrator, sales team, admin as well as your customer, or bringing diverse voices to a branding project, by actively involving stakeholders throughout the process, organisations can ensure that all perspectives are considered and valued.

This approach not only creates a sense of ownership and commitment but also enhances the quality of outcomes through the diversity of ideas. Effective communication and collaborative tools play a crucial role in maintaining engagement, ensuring that stakeholders remain informed, motivated, and aligned towards shared goals.

Much like your brand, as the organisation evolves, so does the need to realign the stakeholders and approach. Some of our clients created their first persona with us in a workshop and returned year after year to deepen their understanding and develop additional personas as they grew.

With 15 years of experience in public sector challenges, managing well-educated stakeholders, and serving SMEs from various industries, Vu can contribute a range of solutions to address your unfolding challenges.

FAQs

Workshops typically range in duration depending on the objectives and activities involved, however they tend to consume a lot of energy so the human brain has a limit (even with coffee and pastries) so we structure our sessions to last about 2 hours. This timeframe allows for focused engagement without overwhelming participants.

For more extensive projects or topics requiring deeper exploration, workshops can be joined together across multiple sessions, spanning several days over several weeks, with more detailed analysis in-between to add value to decision making and context for the next workshop.

While workshops share some similarities with meetings (they are a collection of people after all), but they are distinct in their purpose and format. Workshops typically involve more active participation and hands-on activities aimed at achieving specific outcomes such as problem-solving, skill development, or idea generation.

Unlike traditional meetings that often focus on discussions or decision-making, workshops encourage collaboration, creativity, and learning, making them more dynamic and productive than standard meetings.

At Vu, we set time for create thinking, evaluation and goal setting with every session and when we combine sessions to solve bigger problems we tend to budget for more detailed analysis to go alongside the discovery.

Workshops can be done online or in person, we find the most natural responses come from in person sessions but with digital technology you can speed up the process and reduce the geography and environmental impact.

They are designed for groups of 3-12 people which could include: Marketers, Business owners, Account managers, Sales teams, Anyone with deep interest in customers, A selection of real customers you invite to attend.

Depends on the session and goals, but participants can expect interactive sessions including a series of questions, activities or exercises facilitated by experts.

Unless informed before the event, you don’t need to prepare or bring anything with you, the sessions are designed to create an environment to collect new ideas, the practical ordering of those comes afterwards.

The deliverable of a workshop will typically include some kind of summary or analysis presented in a report. Participants often develop their own action plans and new ideas from sections of the workshop they showed particular interest in.

Workshops also enhance participants’ broader skills, knowledge and understanding of others roles. Creating team harmony, strategic alignment, innovation and recommendations for the future.
