Digital Disconnect to Purposeful Presence
Gina Benjamin from Venture People, along with her leadership team, heads up a small, values-driven organisation that designs and delivers specialist supported accommodation and community support services across Sussex.
While their impact in local communities was significantly positive, the brand didn’t always reflect that.
“The website was so outdated,” Gina shared. “We didn’t feel it represented the services we offer or the in-person experience of the brand.”
The site was holding the organisation back. It didn’t reflect their values, professionalism, or the complexity of the work they do.

Rediscovering Identity, Together
Initially, the project began as a website brief. But through early discovery sessions and conversations, it became clear there was deeper work to be done.

The Vu team guided the Venture People leadership team through a series of workshops to redefine their mission, vision, and values – a process that brought internal clarity and opened up powerful new conversations across the organisation.
They also conducted service user and stakeholder interviews, which uncovered both strong emotional feedback from those Venture People supports and constructive ideas from service commissioners.

They took their colleagues and other key stakeholders on the brand journey using all of the findings.
This uncovered that the feedback was grounding and affirming – a reminder of why the team does what they do. It shaped the tone of the brand and gave the internal team a renewed sense of direction.
“That positive energy is a real catalyst for growth, change and collaboration,” explains Vu Director Dominic Cooper. “It would’ve been a missed opportunity to disappear and define the brand in isolation – the creativity had to come from both sides, client and agency.”
The project evolved through a genuine co-creation process, from early sketches and shared ideas to regular meetings, weekly stand-ups, and open channels for feedback and communication.
As Gina put it, “the whole development of the website – even down to the colours and imagery – felt like a process the whole team was involved in.”
The brand refresh led to a new logo, updated messaging, and a tone of voice that truly reflected Venture People’s ethos.
These were embedded across a new website, fresh marketing materials, and even a set of wall graphics displaying the team’s values proudly in their office space.

Since the relaunch, Venture People has seen a shift, not just in how others perceive them, but in how they view themselves.
After the first month, they received nine enquiries through a website that previously didn’t deliver a meaningful enquiry.
With a clear, confident brand and a website they’re proud to share, they’ve equipped themselves with the tools to build stronger relationships with commissioners, partners, future team members and the community they serve.
