"There was a huge difference between the level of sophistication of your processes and the processes that I saw locally… yours were way deeper and way more informed… you were very agile and adept at applying them to this non-ordinary situation."
Mary Ann Allison, Founder
Account & Project Manager

Hours
Flexible hours, five days

Think of a really good restaurant…
The best front-of-house person makes you feel at home the moment you walk in. They read the room and know how to talk to you, anticipate your next question, advise on the menu, tell you honestly how long the food will be, and care about your experience as much as you do.
That’s the job. Our clients come to us with a problem, often in a world that’s unfamiliar to them.
You’re the first person they talk to. You put them at ease, understand what they want and why, translate that into what we can do, and set clear expectations from there. Then you make sure it arrives.
About Vu
We help businesses that know something isn’t working but aren’t sure what to do about it. Maybe nobody’s enquiring. Maybe the brand no longer matches the business, or their systems don’t talk to each other.
Often the conversation will start with a website, because that’s what most people come asking for. Rarely is that just the solution, it might become branding, advertising, SEO, content, a custom tool, or simply advice that stops them spending money on the wrong thing.
We’re a certified B Corp and a Real Living Wage employer. We’d rather build a good, sustainable business than a big one.
What you’ll do
- Be our clients’ first point of contact, every day, not just when something’s gone wrong
- Get to the real problem behind a request and work out, with the client and with us, the right response
- Bring the right team member to the table with the context already gathered, so no client has to explain themselves twice
- Keep projects moving: timelines, updates, comms and a clear view of who has capacity for what
- Turn conversations into tracked actions and follow them up
- Flag when work is ready to invoice, alongside our finance support
- Spot where an existing client could genuinely use more help, and bring it to the right person
What it isn’t
Not sales
New business sits elsewhere. You’ll just notice opportunities in the accounts you look after.
Not a build role
You won’t do the doing of the work, but you’ll know enough to ask good questions.
Not a PA
You’ll own your clients and projects, not someone else’s diary.
Who we’re looking for
We care more about how you make people feel than where you’ve worked. You might come from an agency, but you could equally come from hospitality, events, or client services anywhere people expect to be well looked after.
- You care about the people you work with, and clients notice
- You read a room and adapt: a long chat for some, brisk and efficient for others
- You finish things. Done means done, not 90%
- You can say “not until Thursday” to a client, or to us, when that’s the honest answer
- You turn a conversation into an action list without being asked
- You’re curious about where digital is heading. You don’t need to be technical
What we offer
- Salary: £30,000–£40,000 depending on experience
- Hours: Reachable across five working days, not necessarily full days. Tell us what fits around the rest of your life.
- Location: Remote, or from our Cornwall or Exeter offices, with occasional in-person team days
- Autonomy: Real ownership of your clients from early on, reporting to the three directors
- Growth: A realistic path toward an operations or delivery leadership role as we grow
- Values: B Corp certified and a Real Living Wage employer
- Holiday: 28 days including bank holidays, plus a Christmas shutdown
- Health: Healthcare cash plan and a fitness allowance
- Allowances: Home office, education and sustainability allowances

How to apply
Send us your CV to the email below, feel free to request an informal chat before we go any further.
Applying in a way that works for you
If a CV and written answers aren’t the best way to show us who you are, send a voice note or a short video instead. If you need any adjustments at any stage, such as extra time, a different interview format, questions in advance, or help getting to us, just tell us. You don’t need to explain why, and it won’t affect how we consider your application.
We welcome applications from everyone, whatever your background, and especially from people who don’t see themselves in a typical agency CV.
What we do with your details
Only the three directors will see your application, and we’ll use it only for this role. We won’t share it with anyone else.
If you’re unsuccessful, we’ll delete your CV and answers within three months after we make our decision, unless you ask us to keep them for future roles, and you can ask us to delete your details at any time.
